In short, what I'm saying is that I'm objecting to a procedure for<br>
system idle, the concept is broken and it won't work, and i'll be<br>
forced to break it the day after it's integrated into Gecko and then<br>
people will wonder why it doesn't work.<br></blockquote><div><br></div><div>I am not really sure you made this particular argument.  I also don't see why, in your particular case, you couldn't make it so that all background tasks are 'idle'.</div>
<div><br></div><div>The concept of system idle is very important for doing rich client based im clients, and for other rich client based things like games and other things where it is important to know that the user is potentially available.</div>
