You are talking at cross-purposes. WF2 has to gracefully degrade in Lynx,
but it doesn't have to be supported in Lynx in such a way that all the new
features work without having to upgrade Lynx.

I think Malcolm was pointing out that his feedback (as yours) has directly
affected the spec in positive ways, despite his not being a browser
vendor.
