Er, There are very good reasons why the presentation is split, the
most important of course being accessibilty, it's clear from this list
that people prefer being able to draw on-top of any element, or
perhaps just an img element, and I'm sure that's not from any
anti-presentationalism, but simply because they don't see efficient
ways to author a canvas element in a backwardsly compatbile accessible
manner.

Repeatedly in WF2, new elements have been rejected due to their
difficulty in implementing in IE6,  why is canvas different? (and yes
we could implement it in IE6 without much difficulty)
