I'll reply to the rest of the thread later (I'm personally still unsure
about the proposal, and I'm eagerly reading each mail on the thread to
see what points people are making), but I just wanted to jump in here and
clarify that "<b><i>OMG!</b></i>" has exactly the same status in the spec
right now as "<img/>" does. So if what we do for "<b><i>OMG!</b></i>" is
acceptable, then I don't really understand what the proposal is.
