This whole situation concerns MIME types that do not match the content.
But you are right, "based on" was wrong. Should have been "after
receiving".

According to RFC4281 <http://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc4281.txt>,there
is an optional "codecs" parameter for container file formats.
