This bug was being spammed beyond all reason. Quoting Brendan Eich:
"Insults about cluelessness from people who spam bugs with advocacy
comments are a good reason to revoke bugzilla access from those clueless
people."

They haven't closed the issue. They've closed the bug.

Daniel Glazman says that they need "More contributors, less trollers."
You may disagree with they way they're handling the spam in this
bug, but don't misrepresent what's going on here. Mozilla is not opposed
to addressing this bug. They're just sick of the spam.
