Not in this way. In fact, the new way will be much much simpler and
does not require javascript. All you need to do is:
<video src="http://www.example.com/movie.ogv#t=12.33,21.16">
or
<audio src="http://www.example.com/sound.oga#t=0.54328,0.72636">
Or if you really wanted to do it in javascript, you'd only need to
reload the resource:
video.src = "http://www.example.com/movie.ogv#t=12.33,21.16";
or
audio.src = "http://www.example.com/sound.oga#t=0.54328,0.72636";
That would have the same effect as setting "start" and "end" time.
